Coyote or Dog?

The eyes pierce through the dark face with prick ears.  Each whisker quiver registers something seen.  Something not necessarily visible to you or me, but seen clearly by her.  She is a Kelpie, red and tan.  The red dark as black walnut.  Tan markings in Cimmerian gold.  Precisely the color of her eyes - a dark glittering gold.  Eyes that are as farseeing inward as outward.  Her wildness evident in her every move.  She has allowed me entrance into her world.  Or, has she slipped into mine?

Quick and clever of mind and body.  Here in an instant, gone in a flash.  Quietly she observes and quietly she leaves.  Stealthy, confident.  Fight or flight.  Her wildness evident in her every move.  She has allowed me entrance into her world.  Or, has she slipped into mine?

Reach for her.  Why would you?  What authority have you?  What history with her?  Gone in a flash.  She'll remember you.  She'll remember your actions, but more importantly, she knows your intent, your strengths and your weaknesses.  Are they yours? Are they hers?  Her wildness evident in her every move.  She has allowed me entrance into her world.  Or, has she slipped into mine?

Thunder and lightning.  In the mountains, on the plains.  It rolls, it vibrates to the depths of one's soul.  It's dark, it's light.  Introspection, illumination.  Her shadow moves quickly.  Her wildness evident in her every move.  She has allowed me entrance into her world.  Or, has she slipped into mine?

Here in an instant, gone in a flash.  Did you see her?  Coyote or dog?  A dog?  Yes... for appearance sake.        - sakonnet
