WKI is the breed association here in North America. There is a quarterly newsletter and a National Kelpie Trial and Meeting. When time and resources permit there are also Regional Trials, usually on the West Coast.

Annual Membership Fees (Calendar Year): Single 17.00, Dual $20, Corporate $17, Youth $5, Foreign Single $22, Foreign Dual $25 and a listing in the General Directory $12.00.

Red River Cattle Dog Association

This is an association devoted to the development and presentation of the cattle working dog.  A group comprised mostly of cattle ranchers formed the RRCDA the spring of 1994.  The goal was to promote the dogs that could handle cattle in a ranch situation and to educate the ranchers as to how to use and handle these dogs.  The method decided upon to do this was a trial that was as close to and would simulate a true ranch situation.  Instead of judging, it was decided that points and time would be a more appropriate way, letting the cattle and dogs settle the outcome.

RRDCA is the leader of the Cattle Dog community worldwide.  It has held the highest paying single event in the world for Cattle Dogs - the Classic.  The RRCDA Classic is, to date, the highest paying single event held.  With 60 Open dogs, it pays out a total of $24,000.00 to the top 15.  The overall winner takes home $10,000 of that.
